The Directors of the Company bring to the Board a variety of skills and experience including industry and business knowledge, financial management, legal experience, corporate strategy and corporate governance experience. Profiles of each member of the Board are set out below:


Luke Reeves

Kevin Bush

Non-Executive Chairman

Mr Bush is a highly experienced nutritional and dairy executive and Chartered Accountant having worked across a variety of industries and organisations including professional practice, ASX listed companies and multinationals. He brings over 25 years in various Executive Leadership roles where he has overseen substantial growth in business performance and people development.

Now based in Sydney, Mr Bush has spent the past 12 years working in the infant nutrition sector, including senior positions with Danone. He led Danone’s business units in China and Hong Kong for seven years and brings an extensive skillset across sales, and marketing to the Board at a critical time in Happy Valley’s development.

Prior to this, Mr Bush was both Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Sydney Attractions Group, the owners of one of Sydney’s largest tourist and entertainment venues, the Sydney Aquarium.

Mr Bush brings complementary skills and experience to Happy Valley’s Board and senior management.


David McCann

David McCann

Non-Executive Director

Mr McCann is a founding shareholder and was appointed as an Executive Director of the Company on 28 April 2016. Mr McCann has 25 years’ experience in managing and operating businesses and has served on both public and private company boards. From 2016 Mr McCann has been a Director of AOP Capital Limited an asset manager licensed by the Hong Kong Securities Futures Commission. Prior to this, Mr McCann was also the CEO of Orient Pacific Capital Limited, a Hong Kong based investment and advisory group.

Mr McCann has several years’ experience building infant milk formula brand ‘A+Puro’ from the ground up with operations in New Zealand, Hong Kong and China . Mr McCann is based in Hong Kong.

Mr McCann holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics and French) from the National University of Galway, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute


Randolph van der Burgh

Randolph van der Burgh

Non-Executive Director

Mr van der Burgh is a founding shareholder and was appointed as an Executive Director of the Company and acting CFO on 8 April 2016. Mr van der Burgh is also a founding shareholder in VCFO Group, Rockburgh Fund Services and First Light Capital and was a former partner at Ernst & Young New Zealand and Australia.

Mr van der Burgh is both an investor in a range of businesses and an international tax, corporate finance and strategy adviser to a range of clients in the New Zealand private equity, venture capital, funds management, real estate, agriculture and dairy sectors.

He has several years’ experience building an IMF brand “A+ Puro” from the ground up with operations in New Zealand, Hong Kong and China. He has a strong network of contacts in the dairy industry in New Zealand and a deep understanding of the opportunities that exist outside New Zealand. Mr van der Burgh is based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Mr van der Burgh holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration Honours (first class) from Victoria University of Wellington. He is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand and holds a Public Practicing Certificate. Mr van der Burgh is also a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors.


Grant Horan

Project Manager

Grant is a founding shareholder in Happy Valley Nutrition Ltd and is passionate to grow the nutritional dairy business in this region. Grant is an accomplished Executive with domestic and international experience in operations, P&L oversight, multi-channel product distribution, experienced in start-up and growth organisation and acquisitions. Grant has travelled significantly around the Asia / Pacific Region and has been a key contributor for both corporate and smaller business in the Dairy, Food and Beverage sectors.


Luke Reeves

Capital Projects Manager

Returning to the Waikato where he grew up, Luke joined Happy Valley Nutrition in March 2020 from Westland Milk Products in Hokitika where he was a Senior Project Manager. There he was responsible for their Capital Plan and major project delivery. Luke has held Project Manager roles across civil infrastructure and dairy processing projects throughout New Zealand.

As Capital Projects Manager, Luke is responsible for the overall delivery, culture and implementation of the site(s) development.

Luke holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Canterbury and is a Member of Engineering New Zealand. Luke is based in Ōtorohanga, New Zealand.


Richard-Chew

Richard Chew

CFO

Richard is a Chartered Accountant qualified from PwC. He is a member of the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Auckland University.

Richard has over 20 years’ experience in mergers and acquisition, venture capital and international expansion gained during his time based at London, Auckland and Singapore as CFO, Board advisor, investor, and Director of several private and listed companies. This include NZX listed company Cooks Global Foods (NZX:CGF), Les Mills International, Fox Sports, Allpress Espresso, FCB, and others.

Richard joined HVN as their interim CFO in November 2021 and is currently based in Auckland, New Zealand.


Zach Mounsey

Zach Mounsey

GM Milk Supply

Born and raised in the heart of Ōtorohanga Zach has significant experience in agri-business strategy management, finance, economics and leadership. Zach’s role is to commercially establish HVN within the Otorohanga, Waitomo and Waipa dairy farm services community. Zach has specific responsibility for selecting and managing HVM’s farmer suppliers, overseeing farm management policies and practices, and ensuring HVN quality standards are adhered to. Zach also partly owns and 50:50 sharemilks a dairy farm in Ōtorohanga and holds leadership and representative appointments with a number of other entities throughout the primary sector. Zach is currently on short term secondment.
